It was not simple to review Purina. Did you know that this Nestlé-owned firm offers over 20 distinct dog food and treat brands, each with its own line of goods designed for dogs of all sizes and life stages? Not to mention that each of those categories has a plethora of recipes!

The first step was to conduct a poll among our readers. Purina offers over 280 dog products, so we wanted to hear which ones you tried or would like to learn more about.
Your input provided us with a handful of formulae from each of the Purina brands, which really aided us in guiding us in the proper way. We sorted your 76 dog food selections into categories for review, as shown in the table below.
OUR INGREDIENT EVALUATION
We studied Purina's labels and webpage after learning it all we could about the dog food ingredients to avoid. We were astounded to discover that the corporation promoted the use of several of the worst dog food ingredients, such as needless food colors and chemical preservatives, which we knew were hazardous to our pups! The Purina dog food components were crucial in our final evaluation.
Beneful
Beneful is one of the best-selling dog meals in the United States, owing to its lower-than-average pricing. The restaurant is able to maintain this pricing range, however, since the taste is also lower than average. Beneful's meal includes a few of artificial chemicals and by-products, however, there are several grain-free versions available. The range also boasts a lot of variety, with a lot of different textures and solutions for pets of different ages, exercise levels, and sizes.
This is one of Purina's lower-quality dog food products, as well as one of the cheapest, for roughly $0.85-.90 per pound.

ProPlan
ProPlan is a major Purina product that has been fed to breeders and trainers for many years. This is most likely owing to ProPlans' partnership with the Westminster Dog Show, but the food is still an excellent product that is head and shoulders above Beneful's quality. ProPlan also offers a variety of breed-specific recipes, which are popular among dog owners. Sadly, if you are allergic to maize or grains, this may not be the greatest option, as there are few, if any, grain-free mixes.
Although the ProPlan line is one of Purina's higher-quality lines, it is still not as good as other brands due to the excessive usage of grains and maize. The average price in this product category is roughly $1.25 per pound.

Dog Chow
Dog Chow is at the bottom of the Purina product line. All of the seven different Dog Chow recipes I examined had Corn listed as the first ingredient, and the majority also contained wheat or corn gluten meal in the top three!
Dog Chow is relatively inexpensive, costing roughly $0.65 per pound on average, but I would avoid it at all costs unless you want to feed your dog corn exclusively.
